We,
as individuals, as human beings have no control over the elements
of Nature. We have no control over her lashings of fury, her outbursts
of torrential rains, hurricane winds, ravaging fires and the earth
crumbling away before our very eyes. This body of work aims to
create a juxtaposition between the body and the elements of Nature
- namely Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. It's aim is to create an
ambient relationship between the body and the Earth where it is
not represented purely as a 'nude' but rather as an extension
of the elements that it is in conjunction with, thus creating
a relationship between them. It is a play between a literal and
conceptual ideal, the warmth and the fury of 'Mother Nature',
encapsulating us in her beauty but also her dangers. The body
as a 'container' but contained subtly within the elements. In
this body of work, the aim is to capture the tranquility as well
as a theatrical, playful notion of the body as it exists in these
elements as a harmonious balance between nature and life. |

Como
individuos, como seres humanos no tenemos control sobre los elementos
de la naturaleza,sobre sus furiosos embates, sobre sus estallidos
de lluvias torrenciales, vientos huracanados, fuegos asoladores
y suelos que se hunden ante nuestros ojos. Este cuerpo de trabajo
busca crear una yuxtaposición entre el cuerpo y los elementos
de la naturaleza, principalmente Tierra, Aire, Fuego y Agua, donde
no es representado simplemente como un "desnudo", sino
más bien como una extensión de los elementos con
los que se conjunta, creando así una relación entre
ellos. Es un juego entre un ideal conceptual y literal, el calor
y la furia de la "Madre Naturaleza", encapsulandonos
en su belleza pero tambien en sus peligros. El cuerpo es como
un "recipiente" pero a su vez contenido sutilmente dentro
de los elementos. Este trabajo busca capturar una noción
del cuerpo tranquila pero también teatral y jugetona, en
un balance armonioso como el que hay entre la vida y la naturaleza. |
