The Palestinian enclaves of Sabra and Chatila are located in the southern outskirts of west Beirut. The massacre of some 1800 Palestinians occurred on September 16, 1982. The massacre included unarmed men, women, and children. I spent 2 days photographing the people of Sabra and Chatila in the summer of 2002, and yes the massacre which occurred some 25 years ago still permeates the air, the memory of that terrible event can been seen in the eyes of every man woman and child. I have traveled much of the world; nothing prepared me for Sabra and Chatila.

Los enclaves palestinos de Sabra y Chatila se localizan en las afueras de Beirut , al sur. En septiembre 16 de 1982 hubo un gran masacre de palestinos en las que murieron hombres desarmados, mujeres y niños. Pasé 2 días fotografiando a la gente de Sabra y Chatila en el verano del 2002 y la masacre ocurrida hace unos 25 años sigue flotando en el aire. El recuerdo de ese terrible evento aun puede verse en los ojos de todos los hombres, mujeres y niños. He viajado por todo el mundo y no nada me había preparado para Sabra y Chatila.
