The "Cerro de la EStrella (Hill of the Star) in the Iztapalapa
borough of MexicoCity has a long religious history that goes back
at least to the times of the Aztecs (1325-1521) where they lit
he "new fire" celebrating the beginning of a new cycle
every 52 years. In that same place the Crucifixion of Christ is
represented each year attracting over a million visitors, according
to the organizers. I intend to give a general aesthetic view of
the event through these images.

Situado en la Delegación de Iztapalapa, ciudad de México,
el Cerro de la Estrella tiene una larga historia religiosa que
se remonta, por lo menos, a los tiempos en que los Aztecas (1325-1521)
encendían “el fuego nuevo” y con él,
festejaban cada 52 años, el nacimiento de un ciclo. Ahora,
en ese mismo cerro, se representa la “pasión cristiana”
que convoca, según los organizadores, a más de un
millón de personas cada año. Estas son algunas imágenes
que tratan de dar un panorama plástico del evento.
