Ningxia Province is located in middle reaches of the Yellow River. Most of terrains are mountainous regions and highlands. Because of the serious permanent drought, in Ningxia it is hard to solve the problem of drinking water. The Xi Hai Gu District has been determined by World Food Program as a region not suit for human living. Geography and environment influence local people’s attitude.There is not much desire for physical comfort, the people of Ningxia are used to a simple and peaceful life. Time has another face, another meaning.

La provincia de Ningxia se localiza a la mitad del curso del Río Amarillo. La mayor parte de los terrenos son regiones montañosas y tierras altas. Debido a la permanente sequía, Ningxia tiene problemas con el agua potable. El distrito de Xi Hai Gu ha sido calificado por el Programa Alimentario Mundial como no apto apra la vida humana. La geografía y el medio ambiente influyen en la actitud hacia la vida de los locales, no hay gran deseo por el confort, la gente de Ninxia esat acostumbrada a una vida sencilla y pacífica. El tiempo tiene otro rostro, otro significado.
