Before strange and distant glances the Maya People have opened a little of their world. Women and men, Ajq'ij, "Mayan priests", are engaged in a dialog with time, making  their heart to be touched by Ajaw, "God", paying attention to signals from the past or from the future, being reverent to the forcefulness of an augury and imperturbable before the outcome of a prediction.

They have prayed in their own altars without interruption, behind our backs but without being hidden. Perhaps only it is that our eyes have not had the enough speed to capture their vitality and the patience to repair in their tenacity. To come near to the Ajq'ij is to surrender to a vision where everything has a vital pulse, apparently inaccessible and, nevertheless, within the reach of their voice.  
It is difficult to assure that each image displayed here retains voices with millenia of multiplicity. To make it somewhat possible is an objective of my work.

Ante miradas ajenas y distantes, el pueblo maya muestra un poco de su mundo. Mujeres y hombres, "Ajq'ij" (sacerdotes) tienen un diálogo con el tiempo, haciendo que su corazón sea tocado por Ahau, "Dios", prestando atención a las señales del pasado o del futuro, reverenciando  el poder del augurio e imperturbables ante el resultado de una predicción. 

Han rezado en sus propios altares sin interrupción, sin ocultarse. Quizás solamente
es que nuestros ojos no han tenido la suficiente velocidad para capturar su vitalidad, ni la paciencia para reparar en su tenacidad. Venir cerca de los Ajq'ij es entregarse a una visión donde todo tiene un pulso vital,
al parecer inaccesible y, sin embargo, dentro del alcance de sus voces.
Es difícil asegurar que cada imagen visualizada aquí conserve voces con miles de multiplicidades. Hacerlo posible de algún modo es el objetivo de mi trabajo.
