A penas pise la gallera, sentí el olor del animal, una mezcla de maíz, zurrita gallinera y alguna plumitas volando, (es como quien va al coleo pues, primero el olor del estiércol te pega luego te acostumbras) entre canciones rancheras y llaneras se pasa una jornada de combates cuerpo a cuerpo entre estos animales en las galleras, el publico es de todo tipo, desde el niño que acompaña a su papa hasta señores mayores que son galleros de nacimiento.

En el momento de la pelea solo se escucha los gritos del publico, el raspar de las alas entre si y en el aire, el cacareo desafiante, y hasta ves chorritos de sangre si los gallos son jodidos. Hay peleas de peleas, hay peleas donde el gallo queda técnicamente ciego por los picotazos de su retador pero consigue ganar la batalla  por su "persistencia" según la ciencia gallística. Ciego y entre tanto grito y algarabía consigue al otro le da sus "carajazos" y lo noquea proclamándose ganador.
