Technique
I used a Nikon 8008 and 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm lenses. I used Fuji
films for the C prints:: Velvia, Fujichrome 100, Reala (ASA 100),
and ASA 1600 for night shots. |

From the series: “Oakland Portrait”
My series “Oakland Portrait” was funded by the San
Francisco Foundation. I walked the streets, photographed parades
and in parks, gained entry into schools, recreational facilities
and religious institutions, and I rode with the police.
Most of what I found was hope and joy, and a lesser amount of
despair.

Serie: "Retrato de Oakland"
Mi serie "Retrato de Oakland" fue financiada por la
San Francisco Foundation.
Fotografíe desfiles en parques, tuve acceso a las escuelas,
instalaciones recreativas e instituciones religiosas, e hice rondas
con la policía.
Encontré en su mayoría esperanza y felicidad, y
mucha menos desesperanza.
