My
project Wonders has started me on a journey exploring wondrous
subject matter and the most effective way to capture it. The photographs
I remember vividly from my youth, like those of the Siamese twins
Chang and Eng and the pyramids, spoke to me. They showed me places
I had never been and people I hadn't met. I strive to capture
these things.
Utilizing
the pinhole camera, I can transform the everyday into the extraordinary.
For Wonders, I have transformed some of my favorite Chicago area
sites; Skokie Adventure Mini Golf, the Niles YMCA building, Graceland
cemetery, and Kathy Osterman beach, into ancient wondrous lands.
The process has renewed my spirit of adventure with the things
I pass by and helped me experience them more thoroughly. I hope
to convey the wonder I feel with the world and photography and
show the timelessness and wonder with these wonderful neighborhood
spots.

Comentarios
Mi proyecto Maravillas me ha puesto al comienzo de un viaje que
explora el tema de lo maravilloso y la forma más efectiva de capturarlo.
Las fotografías que recuerdo vívidamente de mi juventud, como
las de los gemelos siameses Chang y Eng y las pirámides, me hablaban.
Me mostraban lugares en los que no había estado y personas que
no conocía. Estas son las cosas que me esfuerzo por capturar.
Utilizando la cámara estenopéica, puedo convertir lo cotidiano
en lo extraordinario. En Maravillas, he transformado algunas de
mis zonas preferidas de Chicago como el golfito Skokie Adventure,
el edificio Niles YMCA, el cementerio Graceland y la playa Kathy
Osterman, en antiguas tierras de maravilla. El proceso ha renovado
mi espíritu de aventura con las cosas que me encuentro y me ha
ayudado ha experimentarlas más intensamente. Espero comunicar
la maravilla que me causa el mundo y la fotografía y mostrar lo
eterno y lo maravilloso con estos maravillosos lugares de la localidad.
