In
the “Pixelography” series I have chosen to illustrate
photography’s fundamental concept by way of the Daguerreotype
and Ambrotype presentation case. The Daguerreotype and Ambrotype
were amazing photographic advances for their time. They delivered
the highest eminence of detail and their aesthetic possibilities
challenged other mediums, just as advancing technologies challenged
them.

la serie "Pixelografía" escogí ilustrar
este concepto fotográfico fundamental a través de
las cajas usadas para presentar daguerotipos y amberotipos. Estas
técnicas fueron adelantos asombrosos para la época.
Permitían un alto nivel de detalle y sus posibilidads estéticas
cuestionaban a los otros medios, al igual que ellos fueron cuestionados
por los avances tecnológicos.

The
distinctive analog light recordings these historical cases once
held have deteriorated over time. The evolution of technology has
enabled me to revisit, manipulate, dream out loud, and give these
objects a new context in which to be viewed. |
