The creatures and beings of the unconscious are living, as are the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky. We control very little of this great wilderness but we can explore and investigate to some degree. My photographs try and bring to life, symbolically, the world that lies hidden and intangible.

To me digital photography has bought unbounded freedom for the imagination (and not only for me, look what can be done in the films like the Lord of the Rings, nothing is more capable of bringing to life our mythology than the digital manipulation of images).

The very illusion that photography represents reality is used to great effect and now we can feel the life of our unconscious how it really is, alive.

Las criaturas y los seres del inconsciente están vivos, tal como los peces en el mar y las aves en el cielo. Controlamos una muy pequeña parte de ese territorio indómito, pero podemos explorarlo e investigarlo hasta cierto punto. Mis fotografías tratan de traer a la vida, simbólicamente, ese mundo que permanece escondido e intangible.

Para mí, la fotografía digital ha traído libertad ilimitada a la imaginación (no sólo para mí, miren lo que puede hacerse en películas como “El Señor de los anillos” (The Lord of the Rings), nada es tan capaz de dar vida a la mitología como la manipulación digital de las imágenes).

La sola ilusión de que la fotografía representa la realidad ha sido usada durante mucho tiempo y ahora podemos sentir la vida de nuestro inconsciente como realmente está, viva.
