These images were all made at The Botanic Gardens in Highland
Park, Illinois, USA. My primary interest in making these images
stems from a love of the landscape. I like to think that the landscape
is one continuous place, separated by neither city limits nor
the wild yonder. The Botanic Gardens are a curious combination
of city and country. It is right off the expressway, about half
an hour's drive from Chicago, yet the gardeners working there
make efforts to emulate the natural prairie that was once before.
Despite the nature of my work, the gardens are usually very crowded.

Todas estas imágenes fueron tomadas en el Jardín
Botánico en Highland Park, Illinois. Mi interés
principal en crear estas imágenes surge de mi pasión
por el paisaje. Me gusta pensar que el paisaje es un espacio continuo,
separado ni por los límites de la ciudad ni por la naturaleza.
El jardín botánico es also curioso que combina la
ciudad y el campo. Está al lado de la carretera y queda
más o menos a media hora en coche de Chicago, sin embargo
los jardineros que trabajan allí tratan de emular la llanura
natural que existía antes. A pesar de lo que se ve en mis
imágenes, por lo general hay mucha gente en los jardines.
