Technique:
Leica M6 with a 35 and 28 mm. I essentially work in black and white. When I started
there were no good color laboratories. The colors were false and that discouraged
me. Therefore I work in black and white. I do everything from A to Z, black room,
developing, framing etc. and I do not regret it. |

Comment :
I specially like taking pictures of people, their movements, their attitudes and
behaviors. I like to photograph them in trying to show the authenticity, their
simplicity, their courage and especially their dignity. They live in a very poor
country and whose situation is far from improving..
Friends, neighbors,
strangers? What importance - what is essential is that they are present in time.
I do not establish relationships with them but if a relationship did have to exist
it would be between the photo itself and me. I am Malagasy myself, it is a country
I know and understand very well. |

Me gusta especialmente tomar fotos de personas, sus movimientos, actitudes y comportamiento.
Gusto de fotografiarlos para tratar de mostrar su autenticidad, su simplicidad,
su valor y en especial su dignidad. Viven en un país muy pobre cuya situación
está lejos de mejorar.
¿Amigos,
vecinos, extaños? ¿Que importa?Lo esencial es que están presentes
en el tiempo. No establezco relaciones con ellos pero si existiera una relación,
sería entre mí y la foto en sí. Yo también soy malgache,
es un país que conozco y entiendo muy bien. |
