These images were shot in 35mm using a Leica. The film is then
digitized on a drum scanner and output as large format ink jet
prints.

Several years ago I was invited by a visual arts center to document
Silophone, a project involving the conversion of an abandoned
grain elevator into a musical instrument. Over the course of a
two-year residency I was given open access to Silo N°5, a
magnificent concrete structure situated in Montreal’s Old
Port. I visited the building repeatedly photographing both its
exterior and interior. In April of 2003, ten large format ink
jet prints from the series were exhibited at the Darling Foundry
which itself is a former disused industrial building recently
recycled into an exhibition space of remarkable beauty.

Comentarios
Hace algunos años fuí invitada por un centro de
artes visuales para documentar "Silophone" (Silófono),
un proyecto para convertir un elevador para grano abandonado en
un gran instrumento musical. Durante mi residencia de dos años,
se me dió acceso al silo No, 5 , una magnífica estructura
de concreto en el Viejo Puerto de Montreal. Fotografié
el interior y exterior del edificio en mis varias visitas. En
abril del 2003, diez impresiones de inyección de tinta
de gran tamaño fueron exhibidas en la fundidora Darling,
otra estructura industrial de gran belleza ahora en desuso, que
recientemente fue reconvertida a un espacio para exposiciones
artísticas.
