I had the opportunity to take part in a mission trip through the local church. The aim of the mission was to help and provide aid to the people of Rabi Island (known as the Banabans) just off the coast of Fiji. The Banabans have suffered devastating events (both cultural and natural) over recent years.
As a result, it has brought an uncertainty to the identity and future of their culture.
The more we spent time with the Banaban people, the more we discovered their extraordinary personalities and characters.
The trip evoked a realisation within us, that the essence of the culture was hidden inside the beautiful and precious individuals.

Tuve la oportunidad de participar en una misión de la iglesia local para ayudar a los habitantes de la isla de Rabi conocidos como los Banaban, cerca de la costa de Fiji. Los Banaban han sufrido devastadores eventos (tanto naturales como culturales) en años recientes.
El resultado ha sido una incertidumbre sobre el futuro de su identidad y su cultura. Mientras pasamos más tiempo con ellos fuimos descubriendo sus extraordinarias personalidades y carácter. El viaje nos reveló que la esencia de su cultura se halla oculta dentro de cada hermoso y único individuo.
