This work is about the sensitivity within every men which is constantly
repressed in many societies, such as the Brazilian. When
women began taking a more active place in those societies,
the social role of men was brought to debate as being harmful
to themselves in many ways, since the male figure built by
these cultures does not provide a further developement
of their emotional and affective issues. What I propose with these pictures
is to show subtil images of what is truly masculine, above
any concept that may be created around it: the male body itself..

Este trabajo trata acerca de la sensibilidad que los hombres constantemente
reprimen en muchas sociedades, tal como la brasileña. Cuando
la mujer obtuvo un lugar más activo en esas sociedades, el
papel social de los hombres se puso a debate como dañino
para ellos de muchas maneras, puesto que la figura masculina construida
en estas culturas no provee un desarrollo de los aspectos afectivos
y emocionales. Lo que propongo con estas fotografías es mostrar
cómo imágenes sutiles de lo que es verdaderamente
masculino, por encima de todas las construcciones a su alrededor:
el cuerpo. |
