If a decade of democracy is not enough to change the
course of history, it sure is enough to give the black
people of South Africa the strength to work hard to
build a nation where the colour of a man's skin is not
an issue any more. Where life in the townships is
not so hard any more. Where the crime rate is not one
of the highest in the world any more.They are doing it
for their sons and daughters, for the children who are
not yet born. They say the road is long, but is worth
it. This is what the Rainbow Nation is today: a land
of contradiction struggling to finally find its peace.

Si una década de democracia no es suficiente para
cambiar el curso de la historia, seguramente lo es
para darle la fuerza al pueblo negro de Sudáfrica para
construir una nación en donde el color de la piel de
un hombre no sea importante, en donde el índice de
criminalidad no sea uno de los más altos del mundo, lo
están haciendo por sus hijos e hijas por los los niños
que aún no han nacido. Se dice que el camino es largo
pero vale la pena. Esto es lo que la nación arco-iris
es hoy: una tierra de contradicciones luchando para
encontrar finalmente la paz.
