Technique
Over the past few years I have strayed from my original vision due
to the pressure of the commercial market, and the opiate we call
Photoshop. After taking a few months off, I realized that I had
lost the passion I possessed when first becoming a photographer.
These photos, taken during jobs and model agency tests, reaffirmed
my commitment to a complete redo of my portfolio, and, when I get
around to it, my website. All the photos were taken with a normal
(50mm) lens on a Nikon F5. I used Ilford XP-2, developed normally,
and altered the contrast in Photoshop. I am now using Photoshop
as I would have previously used my old wet darkroom, controlling
contrast, dodging and burning only. Only the type of film now differs
from my original style of working, due to the final prints being
digital.

Técnica
En los últimos años me he ido desviando de mi visión original por
las presiones del mercado comercial y por el opio que conocemos
como Photoshop. Después de tomarme unos meses del trabajo, me di
cuenta que había perdido la pasión que tenía cuando comencé siendo
un fotógrafo. Estas fotos, tomadas en sesiones de trabajo y pruebas
para las agencias de modelos, reafirmaron mi convicción de rehacer
mi portafolio y, cuando tenga tiempo, mi página personal. Todas
las fotos se tomaron con una Nikon F5 con un lente normal(50mm).
Use película Ilford XP-2, con revelado normal, y manipulé el contraste
en Photoshop. Utilizo Photoshop de la misma manera en que antes
usaba mi viejo cuarto oscuro: sólo controlo el contraste y palomeo.
Sólo el tipo de película ha cambiado de mi forma original de trabajar
porque las impresiones finales son digitales.
