One of the most respectable values in the Iranian culture is
manhood. Clothing is an important signifier for all men in this
culture. LONG pronounced lo-ng as in won't - is an abstract version
of the costumes worn by men in Ilam civilization of ancient Iran.
Those costumes were knitted with fabrics made of gold and silk.
The bright red color of LONG is a symbol of blood. Blood that is
shed during wars with the enemies. The traditional wrestlers wear
LONG over their wrestling suits in zoorkhanehs (power houses)
traditional wrestling arenas. They announce their modesty before
the fight by taking the LONG off and laying it on the floor. LONG
is also regarded as a form of Islamic covering for men. It is used
in the traditional public bathhouses in Iran to cover a man’s body
and creates a beautiful harmony with their bodies. |

Uno de los valores más respetados en la cultura iraní
es la virilidad. La ropa es un indicador muy importante para todos
los hombres de esta cultura. El LONG es una versión abstracta
de los trajes usados por los hombres de la civilización Ilam
del antiguo Irán. Esos trajes se bordaban con hilo de oro
y seda. El brillante color rojo es símbolo de la sangre,
la sangre que se vierte en el combate con el enemigo. En las zoorkhanehs
(casas de poder), los luchadores tradicionales se colocan un LONG
sobre su traje de luchador. Antes del combate, anuncian su modestia
quitándose el LONG y extendiéndolo sobre el suelo.
El LONG también es considerado como una forma masculina de
velo islámico . Lo usan en los baños tradicionales
en Irán para cubrir sus cuerpos, creando una bella armonía
