During 1993 and 1995 I lived in Costa Rica where I had the opportunity of getting to know and sharing the lives of the Cabecares Indians, a small ethnic group that inhabits the mountains of Talamanca in southern Costa Rica.

This is my story of a people who had to abandon their land and culture at the beginning of the 20th century to seek refuge in the unreachable mountains of Talamanca in Costa Rica from the ambition of colonizers, who not only took their lands but also their culture by implanting new beliefs that were difficult to assimilate.

Durante los años 1993 y 1995 viví en Costa Rica donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer y compartir la vida de los indígenas Cabecares, pequeña minoría que habita las montañas de Talamanca al sur de Costa Rica.

Esta es mi historia de un pueblo que a principio de siglos XX tuvo que dejar sus tierras y cultura para refugiarse, en las inalcanzables montañas de Talamanca en Costa Rica, de la ambición del colonizador que no sólo le quitó su tierra sino que también le anuló su cultura implantándole nuevas creencias que eran difíciles de asimilar.
