This movie was originally filmed in 16mm by Carlos Jurado in 1973. It was awarded a prize from CONACYT (The Mexican National Council for Science and Technology). Carlos Jurado now only has a video version, and does not know if an original film version still exists. The film includes a brief history of the camera obscura, and Carlos Jurado also shows a group of children learning how to make a camera obscura out of cardboard. Step by step the film illustrates how to make a pinhole camera by hand, how it works, and the processes involved through to the printing of the photographs. |
