Once we do this we open ourselves to the possibilities. To experience
beauty has always been a primal need for society and to convey it
we have relied upon the arts through the ages. Currently, beauty
has been largely replaced by shock/sensationalistic type imagery
and socio-political photographic commentary in the art photography
scene. The former takes the easy road in getting ones attention
- it merely titillates, whereas the latter serves the purpose of
informing and convincing us about something - I call it photographic
lobbying. |

Una vez que hacemos esto nos abrimos a las posibilidades. Experimentar
la belleza siempre ha sido una necesidad primordial de la sociedad
y el transmitirlo ha sido confiado a las artes a través de
los tiempos.. Actualmente en la escena artística de la fotografía,
la belleza ha sido reemplazada mayormente por imágenes conmocionantes/sensacionalistas
y fotos cuyo contenido es el comentario sociopolítico. La
primera toma el camino fácil al obtener nuestra atención,solamente
emocionando, mientras que la segunda sirve el propósito de
informar y convencernos acerca de algo -yo llamo a esto cabildeo
fotográfico-. |
