These images come from Gupta's personal journey from his birthplace (India) through his adopted homes (Canada and England), along with significant stopovers in the U.S. The rural imagery of Northern India is anchored in the landscape that Gupta inherited but which he is quite distant from. On the other hand, the Western landscape, which he inhabits more easily, derives its cultural history from an exclusively European tradition. The re-investigation of the geography of discrete landscapes and how they are read in the twenty-first century is one of Gupta's major concerns.

Estas imágenes surgen del viaje personal de Gupta, desde su lugar de nacimiento (India), pasando por sus hogares adoptivos (Canada e Inglaterra), además de estadías importantes en EUA. Las imágenes rurales del norte de la India están ancladas en el paisaje heredado por Gupta pero del cual está distanciado. Por otro lado, la historia cultural de los paisajes de Occidente, habitados por Gupta con mayor facilidad, derivan de una tradición exclusivamente europea. La re-investigación de la geografía de los paisajes discretos y el modo en que son leídos en el siglo veintiuno son una de las principales preocupaciones de Gupta.
