"The Coffee Harvest"

This essay, "The Coffee Harvest," is an overview of the Mayan indians, coffee harvesters in the State of Chiapas, Mexico, from 1989 to 1994. This documentary covers the massive migration, year after year, of workers from Guatemala, also Mayan indians, to the coffee plantations in the region known as El Soconusco. It's a history of exploitation and of semi feudal conditions. Due to the scarcities, the abandonement, and the accumulation of bad treatment, they have risen in arms and formed the EZLN, the Zapatista Army of National Liberation.
