Hi!
My name is María Cristina Andrez Pérez, I am 26 years old,
I am married and I have three kids: Dante (10 years old), Adrián
(8 years old) and Alma Lila (18 months old); I work as a teacher. It all
began three years ago when Alberto (my husband) told me that they were
opening a photography workshop in his workplace and he asked me if I wanted
to join in. At first, I didn't pay much attention to it, but I decided
to participate when I saw that it was actually going to take place. So
I showed up at the appointed place and time (10 AM). When I listened to
Mariana (the photographer), I wondered if I would ever understand her
because it all seemed too complicated, but as the days went by I began
to like it and it all became easier; at first, I took photographs of anything
I could. Mariana gradually taught us to see through the lens in ways that
are different from the ones we are used to.
In this way,
our first workshop, which was very exciting, ended. As well as being relaxing,
you learn to see a whole world through that window. We all began with
different projects; mine was called "El paseo de las azucenas"
( White Lilly Walk), but after taking so many pictures of my family, I
had to change the title. Many exciting things happened during the next
workshop. I learned many other things and, more importantly, other kids
joined the workshop, so therefore there were more people with whom to
share the only darkroom and enlarger we had.
