Suganesh

In his new home at the state-run Cuddalore Tsunami orphanage, nine-year-old Suganesh says to me: “I like schooling because there are so many things to learn.” The government has promised free education up to class XII and future employment for the Tsunami orphans. Originally from the fishing islet of Chinnavaaikkal, Suganesh lost both his parents to the killer waves.
