Determined to shake off the very last ember of misgiving that Patricio Aragonés had sown in his heart, he decided that those tortures would be the last of his regime, they killed the caimans, they dismantled the torture chambers where it was possible to crush bone after bone, each and every one of them, without killing, he proclaimed a general amnesty, he anticipated the future with the wonderful idea that the problem in his country is that the people have too much time to think, and looking for a means of keeping the people occupied he restored the poetry competitions in March and the annual contests for beauty queens, he built the largest football stadium in the Caribbean and he gave our team the rallying cry of victory or death…
