I began this project in 1999 as a documentary about the women of San Miguel Amatitlan, Oaxaca, who were building their own houses out of clay. Three years later, it has become a new perspective to make people aware of what is happening and can be done in this area of Mexico.

I think the story of these women is a lesson of life for all of us: with a little help, great projects can be achieved.

This is Sandra´s house, the first to be built. This house became the model for the rest.

It was hard work, but they never lost their feminine sensuality.
