This sculpture of Jesus was restored shortly before Easter. One night, at 10:00 PM, Padre Santiago, who is the only priest in Amatitlan, asked me to drive with him to the city (which is an hour away) to bring back the image. It was so big, that we had to open the windows to fit it into the car. It was late that night, when we came back to the village. We took the heavy image to the sacristy, and this photograph was taken on that chilly night.

I would like to mention that Padre Santiago Rojas got the $ 17,000.00 pesos from the Vatican.

Thanks to this money and the effort of the women, they now have a different perspective on their lives. He is the person who has encouraged them to carry on with their projects.
