Oral
Traditions
Since pre-Hispanic times, oral tradition is undoubtedly one of the greatest cultural riches, through which the Mexican people preserve their history and which encourages a sense of collective identity. Stories, accounts, oral narratives, about places, characters and situations which the narrator or informant has not witnessed, recreate the communitys history and through time have served as an extremely important tool to understand and learn "by ear" the facts that the communitys inhabitants consider to be important.
