06. Perla and Don Teofilo at their house

I worked in a town called San Lorenzo Papalo. When I started doing my research I realized that too little ethnographic research have been done with this ethnic group. Some anthropologists of the early 20th century deemed the cuicatecs as “unpleasant uninteresting indians” also as “very backward and superstitious”.

Obviously I do not agree with the opinion of these anthropologists, on the contrary and I want to thank these people for letting me into their homes and their lives.
