Following
a vision of three crosses on their estate in the seventeenth century
the Zebrzydowski family built a monastery, a church, and a replica
of the Via Dolorosa. A pilgrim crowned in leaves, crawls on her knees
up the steps of one of the chapels, emulating Christ's journey up
the Via Dolorosa. During the Festival of the Assumption thousands
make their pilgrimage to Kalwara Zebrzydowska, Poland. |
