AY DIOS - Diana Blok

Villa María

Once again, I run with luck. With an architect's help, I am able to enter this building.

Drugs and brothels abound in this part of Willemstad, but there are also consulates and law firms.

I go inside and meet the workers in charge of restoring the mansion. They become my subjects, dressed up as they are with protective glasses and masks. I take their portrait as they look for their assigned wall according to the color they are wearing.

I feel at ease walking among these ruins. I find beauty in its decadence. I am inspired by buildings that reveal the passage of time.
