Prince Victor

Prince Víctor is Curacao's best known photographer.

His beauty inspired me from the first moment we met and I asked him to pose for me. His shyness before the camera is not surprising: I, too, have always preferred to be behind the lens rather than in front of it. Surprisingly, he tells me that he has had his portrait taken very few times. This photo session between two photographers generates a feeling of positive competition.

I always like planning my sessions before my subject arrives. I study the light, the background, the reflections. I love creating settings with available materials, improvising freely.

It was interesting to see how his shyness evaporated and he began suggesting ideas that complemented mine.
